Cleaning a fiber statue is very simple. Use a soft dry cloth or a soft-bristle brush to remove dust gently. For slightly stuck dirt, you can use a barely damp cloth — but avoid soaking the surface or using wet cleaning directly. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, alcohol-based products, or abrasives as they can damage the painted surface. For deeply ingrained dirt in intricate details, a soft toothbrush works well.

Our outdoor statues are made with UV-resistant and weatherproof coating specifically for outdoor display in Indian weather conditions. However, for maximum longevity, we recommend: keeping the statue under a covered outdoor area rather than in direct rain, cleaning off bird droppings promptly, applying a thin coat of automotive clear wax once a year to freshen the protective coating, and securing large statues to their base to avoid wind damage.

Yes! Minor paint chips on fiber statues can be touched up with standard acrylic paints in matching colours. We are happy to advise on the correct colour code for your specific statue over WhatsApp. For larger repairs, you can also send the statue back to our studio in Delhi for a professional rework at a nominal charge — excluding shipping costs.

Our statues are painted with high-quality acrylic paints and finished with UV-resistant lacquer coating. For indoor statues, the colour should remain vibrant for 5 to 10 years with normal care. For outdoor statues, the UV coating provides 3 to 5 years of colour stability in normal conditions. Renewing the clear coat occasionally and avoiding prolonged direct exposure to harsh sunlight extends the life significantly.

Terracotta is a natural material and needs gentle care. Do not soak terracotta in water for extended periods. Clean with a dry cloth or a barely damp cloth. Avoid placing terracotta in humid or constantly wet environments as it can develop moss or crack. For terracotta used as planters, ensure there is drainage to prevent water logging. A light coating of coconut oil on unglazed terracotta every few months helps maintain its lustre.

Use a soft dry paintbrush (like a 1-inch wide watercolour brush) to gently sweep dust out of the grooves and textured areas. A can of compressed air is also very effective for deep grooves. Avoid using damp cloths directly on textured surfaces as water can get trapped in grooves. For stubborn marks on flat painted areas, a barely damp soft cloth is fine.

Yes, you can repaint your statue with standard acrylic paints — the fiber surface takes paint very well. Lightly sand the old surface first if there are any rough areas, then apply a thin coat of acrylic gesso primer before painting for best results. Finish with a coat of clear acrylic varnish to protect the new paint. Our team is happy to advise on the process over WhatsApp.

The paints used on our statues and terracotta products are standard artist-grade acrylic paints which are generally considered safe once dried. However, our products are decorative items — not toys — and are not intended for children to handle, mouth, or play with unsupervised. For home mandir use where small children are present, we recommend placing statues out of their easy reach.

If your statue has a metal stand or fixing bracket that has started to rust, clean the rust marks with a paste of baking soda and water applied with a cloth, left for 10 minutes, then wiped clean. For the metal itself, lightly sand the rust, apply a rust converter, and finish with a coat of outdoor spray paint. Alternatively, contact us for a replacement bracket.

Store fiber and polyresin statues in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Wrap them in soft cloth or bubble wrap before storing. Do not stack heavy items on top of statues. Avoid storing in damp basements or areas with high humidity. Terracotta items should also be kept dry during storage and wrapped individually to prevent chipping.
